TAMPA – The Bulls look to extend their winning streak to five games 7 p.m. Wednesday when in-state rival UCF visits at USF Baseball Stadium.

USF (18-14, 7-2) is tied with Louisville atop the conference standings after taking three games from then-No. 26 Pitt last weekend in Tampa. UCF (18-15, 4-5 C-USA) has lost five straight after getting swept by Memphis last weekend in Tennessee.

The Bulls are looking for a season sweep of the Knights after winning the teams’ first meeting, 6-4, in Orlando on Feb. 26. Jimmy Falla went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the contest and the senior’s bat was red-hot during USF’s 4-0 run last week. The outfielder/first baseman made the Big East Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after going 8-for-16 with seven RBIs and four doubles.

Freshman Jimmy Herget was named Big East Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career after allowing three hits in a complete-game shutout last Friday night. The Tampa native has yet to surrender a run in 21 innings of Big East play.

The Bulls will stay at home this weekend to host Alcorn State in a three-game series that starts 7 p.m. Friday at USF Baseball Stadium. Saturday’s game is set for 6 p.m. and Sunday’s series final begins at 1 p.m.
