TAMPA – James Ramsay, Chris Norton, Levi Borders, Anthony Diaz and Kyle Copack each drove in runs to help the Bulls finish their non-conference slate with a 6-4 victory at Florida Gulf Coast University on Tuesday night.

USF (33-19) snapped a three-game losing streak while FGCU (34-18)  lost for only the second time in its past 14 games.

The programs were tied at 3 before USF pulled ahead with a two-run seventh inning. Kyle Teaf singled and Alex Mendez doubled to start the frame and Ramsay produced the go-ahead run with a lineout to center field. Norton followed with an RBI double with two outs and Copack provided an insurance run in the ninth.

Borders got the USF offense going with a bases loaded walk and Diaz made it a two-run inning with an infield single. The Bulls grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second inning thanks to an RBI single from Ramsay, who went 2-for-3 with a walk.

USF got five solid innings from starter Mike Clarkson, who struck out three and gave up three runs (two earned) on seven hits in the team’s final road game of the regular season.

The Bulls jump back into Big East play with a three-game series against Rutgers that starts 7 p.m. Thursday at USF Baseball Stadium. Friday’s game begins at 7 p.m. and Saturday’s regular season finale is set for a 1 p.m. start.
