With just one date left to be confirmed, the University of South Florida volleyball team released its 2013 schedule for the Bulls' first season in the American Athletic Conference.
USF inked strong non-conference opponents to help prepare for an extended, 18-match conference season in which the Bulls will play each team twice - once home and once on the road.
After hosting a two-day tournament at the Corral in the last weekend of August, the Bulls will hit the road to play consecutive matches against 2012 NCAA Tournament teams California, Creighton and Northern Colorado.
USF comes back to the corral to take on a strong Big Ten opponent in Purdue, then will travel to another Big Ten school in Northwestern for a two-day, three-match tournament to round out the non-conference portion of the schedule.
"Our schedule has a good balance this year," head coach Courtney Draper said. "We think it allows our student athletes the opportunity to be successful, while also being challenged by some of the most elite volleyball teams in the country. It's exciting to have teams like Cal, Purdue, Northwestern, and Creighton on the schedule for this year."
The Bulls will open their conference season on the road at UCF before coming home to take on Rutgers and Connecticut over the first weekend in October. The Bulls' longest homestand will be three games, facing Memphis, Temple and UCF from Oct. 25 - Nov. 1.
