TAMPA – Andrea Rodriguez Gomez moved into second place on USF’s career block assist list in the Bulls’ 3-2 comeback victory at Cincinnati on Sunday.
Rodiguez Gomez posted five block assists and 12 kills as USF (9-10) improved to 3-2 in the American Athletic Conference with the 22-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-19, 18-16 victory. Rodriguez Gomez, a senior middle blocker, now has 484 career block assists.
Sophomore Erin Fairs led the attack with 26 kills and 11 digs, while freshman Amy Van Sant recorded a team-high 24 digs to help the Bulls bounce back from a 3-0 loss at Louisville on Friday night. Freshman Dakota Hampton added 17 digs and sophomore Wylie Devlin finished with 10 digs in USF’s second stop on a four-match road trip.
The Bulls are back in action Friday, Oct. 18 at SMU before finishing up their road trip at Houston on Sunday, Oct. 20. USF’s next home match is Friday, Oct. 25 against Memphis at 8 p.m.
