TAMPA – USF freshman Sasha Gozun has played his way to the main draw of the IMG Academy $10K Futures pro tournament in Bradenton.
Gozun made it through four rounds of qualifying and looks to post some pro points when he takes on former Stanford standout Ryan Haviland on Wednesday.
Gozun, from Orhei, Maldova, recently made it through three rounds of qualifying at the Bluewater Bay Pro Circuit Championships in Niceville, Fla. Prior to the season, TennisRecruiting.net ranked Gozun, who went to Brickhouse Academy in Sarasota, No. 8 nationally in his graduating class and No. 1 in Florida after he was top five in the United States as a 16-year-old.
