Cid To Compete In NCAA Singles Championship

TAMPA (May 1, 2014) – Roberto Cid will represent USF in the upcoming 2014 NCAA Singles Championship it was announced by the NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Subcommittee.

The NCAA Singles Championship will be held at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on May 21-26 in Athens, Ga., following the conclusion of the team championship competition.

Cid has played the majority of the season at the top singles position for USF posting a 21-4 mark on the season including a 19-3 record in dual matches this spring.  The sophomore has gone 7-4 this year against ranked opponents.

Cid earned the automatic bid from the American Athletic Conference by being named the Most Outstanding Player during the Conference Championship where he went a perfect 3-0 in singles play.

On Tuesday, USF also found out its postseason fate as they will travel to Gainesville to take on Florida State in a first round matchup at 9:00 a.m. on May 10.
