Bulls To Honor Seniors at South Florida Collegiate

TAMPA, APRIL, 20, 2017 – The USF track and field team concludes the 2017 outdoor home slate when the Bulls host the South Florida Collegiate on Friday and Saturday.

This will be the first meet for the Bulls since competing in the Houston Alumni Invitational on April 8. USF posted three event wins (women’s hammer throw, women’s javelin, men’s pole vault) and recorded eight all-time top 10 marks at the competition.

The two-day South Florida Collegiate will begin on Friday at 4 p.m. with the women’s hammer, men’s hammer and women’s javelin throwing events. The meet will continue on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. with additional throwing events, and a full slate of jumping and running competitions.

Following the 800m men’s running event on Saturday, the Bulls will honor 21 seniors for their contributions to the program. Click here for a full list of the honorees.

About USF Track and Field

Led by 11th-year head coach Warren Bye, the USF track and field team has produced 21 All-Americans (eight men, 13 women) since 2000 and at least one All-American in nine of the last 10 years. Recent graduate Matthew O’Neal is USF’s first six-time NCAA All-American. The Bulls return all-conference performer David Akins (pole vault) and Michael Babinec (steeplechase), as well as NCAA qualifier Bernicia Holifield (hammer throw). USF is home to the 2018 NCAA Track and Field East Preliminary.
