Louisville, Ky. (May 18, 2017) – Senior Kristen Wyckoff and junior Astin Donovan earned spots on the NFCA All-Mideast Region Teams, the NFCA announced Thursday. Wyckoff was a second team honoree, while Donovan was named to the third team.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first, second and third team selections. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2017 NFCA Division I All-American squads.

Wyckoff earned her third all-region honor, after being named to the third team in 2015 and the first team in 2016. The senior led USF on the field with a .400 average, 17 stolen bases, 27 runs and a .483 slugging percentage. She boasted a .447 on-base percentage and 58 total bases in her senior campaign. Wyckoff recorded an 11-game hitting streak and on-base streak during the season. She recorded 16 multiple-hit games and was the only player with a four-hit game during the season.

Donovan tabbed her second all-region honor, after being named to the second team in 2016. The junior ranked second on the team in average (.369), runs (26), slugging percentage (.482), and stolen bases (10). She led the team in hits with 52 and total bases with 68. Donovan has recorded a hit in her last ten games and reached base in her last 11. Behind her 13 multiple-hit games, she was the only player to record more than five RBI in a game.
