The University of South Florida Athletics District is the new and improved home for Bulls intercollegiate athletics. After gaining approval in December 2009, construction began in June 2010 with a plan that will forever change the course of USF athletics.
The $33.5 million project, which is nearing completion, includes new baseball, softball and soccer stadiums, football and basketball practice facilities, upgrades to the tennis facility and the construction of recreation fields.
Considered to be the largest athletic construction project in terms of facilities built at one time, the recent Athletics District upgrades put USF on par with virtually any other program across the country when it comes to facilities.
If that wasn't enough, construction has begun on a $35.6 million renovation of the Sun Dome, home to USF's men's and women's basketball programs, which is expected to be completed no later than April 2012.
All facility rental inquiries should be directed to Director of Athletic Events Jim Fee at fee@usf.edu.
Inquiries for the use of recreation fields should be directed to Campus Recreation at (813) 974-3177.
