TAMPA - The No. 14 USF sailing team is focused on climbing even higher in the rankings before the season's grand finale.
The Bulls are in Providence, R.I., for this weekend's Dellenbaugh Regatta, one of two events on their schedule before national qualifying (April 21-22) and the national championships (May 30-June 2).
USF had to adjust last weekend when it was shorthanded for the women's regatta portion of Duplin at Tufts in because of injuries, causing the available sailors to jump aboard with the rest of the team for the co-ed Boston Dinghy Cup.
The change in plans didn't deter the Bulls from succeeding when Hillary Noble crewed in the A division to an 11th place finish. Kaitlin Kramer took charge with a 15th place finish in the B division while Abby Featherstone and Kim Calnan were 15th in the C division.
That all took place while Sara Simon and Casey McGauran placed fourth in the B division at the final SAISA South Points co-ed event of the season hosted by Jacksonville University.
"We were still quite busy," head coach Allison Jolly said.
The Bulls will look to make another push towards getting into the top 10 at the Emily Wick Regatta, hosted by the Coast Guard Academy, April 14-15 in New London, Conn.
