TAMPA - A solid regular season has helped the Bulls earn a nice starting point for the Big East Championship.
The USF women's tennis team is seeded second among 12 teams in the conference tournament that takes place Thursday through Sunday at the three locations on the USF campus. The Bulls, who went 15-8 this spring, get a first-round bye and will face the No. 7 Marquette-No. 10 St. John's winner 9 a.m. Friday at the Varsity Tennis Courts.
USF will play at 9 a.m. Saturday if it wins Friday and the tournament championship match is slated for a 9 a.m. start on Sunday. The event is free for fans to attend.
The Bulls went 4-1 in conference play this season after posting victories over Syracuse, Georgetown, Marquette and DePaul. USF's last Big East Championship victory was in 2007 and it marked the first for the Bulls in any sport.
