Awarded a medical hardship waiver by the NCAA this summer to be classified as a redshirt junior… Has two years of eligibility remaining… Played only eight games last season after pain caused by an offseason surgery became too much to bear… Stats count for all eight games Collins played and enters 2014-15 sixth on the school’s all-time assist list with 402... A true point guard who looks to pass every trip down the floor… Shooting ability has improved greatly since his freshman season… Only player remaining from the 2011-12 team that advanced to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament… Attempting to become the only player in USF history to qualify for the NCAA Tournament twice… Says the success of this season depends on “defense and my leadership”
2013-14 (JUNIOR): Missed the first two games and the final 22 games due to swelling in his left knee caused by offseason surgery to remove an inflamed bursa sac ... Averaged 6.9 points, 5.9 assists and 1.6 rebounds per game ... Started in seven of the eight games he played in ... Statistically was USF's best 3-point shooter, 7-of-18 (38.9 percent)… Member of the American Athletic Conference Preseason Second Team
2012-13 (SOPHOMORE): Collins posted the fourth highest single season assists total in USF history with 194 and now is 10th all-time in USF history with 355 assists ... also finished the season as the teams’ third leading scorer, averaging 8.6 points per game and ... Led the team with nine assists against Seton Hall (March 12) ... Registered his seventh double-digit assist outing of the season with 12 against UConn (March 3) tying his career high set against W. Michigan earlier in the year ... Scored his most points since Jan. 2 with 16 against DePaul (March 3) ... also added four assists, four rebounds and four steals while connecting on a season-high tying seven FGs ... Recorded his third double-double of the season with 12 points (5-of-13 FG, 2-of-3 FT) and 10 assists against Providence (Feb. 9) ... Posted 10 points on 3-of-6 shooting from the field while going a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line at Connecticut (Feb. 3) ...
