TAMPA, MARCH 5, 2014 - Three consecutive double-double games from the conference's rebound leader wasn't enough to unseat UConn's Breanna Stewart from another Player of the Week award, but it did catch the attention of the American Athletic Conference.
Bulls' sophomore Alisia Jenkins (Statesboro, Ga.) averaged an incredible 15.7 points and 14.7 rebounds per game over three consecutive wins, earning her fourth honor roll appearance and first since Jan. 13
Jenkins set career highs with 21 points and 18 rebounds against Memphis, then followed it up with back-to-back double-doubles against SMU (16 points, 13 rebounds) and No. 24 Rutgers (10 points, 13 rebounds).
The sophomore is tied with Rutgers' Betnijah Laney for the conference lead with 12 double-doubles this season, including seven double-doubles against conference opponents. UConn's Stewart edged out Jenkins, recording a pair of double-doubles and averaging 21.7 points and 9.6 rebounds.
