TAMPA - Andrea Smith has been rewarded for her hot start to Big East play.
USF's senior guard has been named Big East Player of the Week after averaging a double-double and 34 points against No. 2 Notre Dame and DePaul.
Smith started last week off with 33 points and 11 rebounds in an overtime loss to the Irish last Tuesday. The Lakeland, Fla., native followed that up with a career-high 25 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to the Blue Demons on Saturday night in Chicago.
Smith has a team-high average of 18.8 points per game heading into USF's home game against Cincinnati 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sun Dome.
