Bulls Add Another to 2013 Signing Class

November 24, 2012

Head softball coach Ken Eriksen's recruiting class continues to grow, as Santa Fe Community College transfer Karla Claudio Rivera signed her letter of intent to play for the Bulls in the 2013-14 season.

Rivera, a pitcher who can also hit, boasted a 2.24 ERA in 137.1 innings pitched her freshman year with Santa Fe. The righty struck out 113 batters, but looked just as good at the plate.

Rivera hit .421 in 140 at bats, pounding out 23 extra-base hits, including 11 home runs. She is also a member of the Puerto Rican National Team.

“We are so lucky to have another National Team Player join our program at USF. Karla’s international experience, her competitiveness, and her head for the game will only add to our level of play,” Eriksen said. "The nice part is that Karla can be a force offensively and defensively.”
