TAMPA - The Bulls have a chance to get back on track against
one of the hottest teams in the nation 6 p.m. Wednesday when the No. 5 Florida
Gators visit USF softball stadium.
The Bulls knocked UF out of the Gainesville Regional last
season on the way to the Women's College World Series and head coach Ken
Eriksen is glad to see the Gators on the schedule again.
"Our schedule is made to play great teams and thank goodness
we're able to get the University of Florida on our schedule twice a year," he
said. "It's a great challenge for us to play another good, solid team. We have
to play flawless softball."
The Bulls (6-8) is happy to be back at home after dropping five
games at the NFCA Leadoff Classic last weekend in Clearwater. Three of those
contests were decided by a single run and Eriksen is looking forward to seeing
a packed house to support the Bulls. USF has gotten off to a 6-3 start in front
of record crowds at USF softball stadium this season.
"We're looking for that enthusiastic crowd to get those girls
in the right set right now," he said.
USF fans will have two more chances to watch the Bulls at
home this weekend. USF faces Kentucky 2 p.m. Friday followed by a 4:15 p.m.
game against Illinois on the first day of the Under Armour Invitational.
The Bulls head back to the Eddie C. Moore Complex in
Clearwater for the second part Invitational on Saturday. USF takes on UIC at 2:45
p.m. and Toledo at 5 p.m.
