CLEARWATER – The Bulls jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, cruising to a 8-2 win over Toledo in game one of a double header at the Eddie C. Moore Complex.

Sam Greiner picked up her first win of the year after pitching four innings, giving up two unearned runs and striking out four batters.

Stephanie Medina had a huge day at the plate for USF, going 3-for-4 with a home run and four runs batted in.

The Bulls got the scoring started early when Nicolette Levine hit an RBI single in the first to score D’Anna Devine. Medina followed that with a two-run single to right field to put USF up 3-0.

USF added another run in the second when Lee Ann Spivey singled home Dani Wayt from third for her eighth RBI of the year.

In the fifth USF scored two more runs, all with two outs, as Wayt recorded her first RBI as a Bull with a single up the middle and Kourtney Salvarola was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

The Bulls capped off the scoring in the sixth on a two-run blast by Medina over the center field fence to put USF up 8-2.

With the win the Bulls improved to 8-10 and will take on UIC in game two of the double header.
