TAMPA – The Bulls have put their highly successful home campaign on hold for a trip to Pennsylvania.
USF heads to Villanova for its first road series of the season that begins 3 p.m. Wednesday at Villanova Softball Field. The series concludes with a doubleheader 11 a.m. Thursday.
The Bulls (24-11) started their Big East season with a series win over Rutgers over the weekend. Kourtney Salvarola set a USF record by hitting three home runs in Sunday’s finale and her walk-off gave the Bulls a 4-3 win in nine innings. Salvarola made the Big East Weekly Honor Roll and was named as one of the NFCA’s national performers of the week.
Left-hander Sara Nevins also made program history Sunday when she became USF’s all-time strikeout leader. Nevins, a junior, passed current assistant coach Monica Triner on the list and now has 648 in her career.
Villanova (11-12) has lost four straight games and was swept by Georgetown over the weekend in Washington, D.C.
USF returns home for a doubleheader against St. John’s that begins Wednesday, April 3 at 12:30 p.m.
