TAMPA – Sara Nevins has earned back-to-back Big East Pitcher of the Week honors after dominating Providence over the weekend.
The junior left-hander threw her second straight one-hitter in Game 1 of the series on Saturday while striking out 12 batters. Nevins struck out 16 batters in two appearances – both wins – and gave up five hits in 11 shutout innings.
Third baseman Kenshyra Jackson made the Big East Weekly Honor Roll after going 5-for-14 with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs during USF’s 3-1 week.
The Bulls (35-12) hit the road for a three-game series at DePaul that starts with a doubleheader Saturday at noon in Chicago. USF plays at doubleheader at Seton Hall on Tuesday, April 23 before wrapping up the regular season with a home series against Syracuse April 27-28.
