USA Softball National Coaching Schools

TAMPA -- The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) of America has announced two of the host cities for upcoming USA Softball National Coaching Schools.

The schools will take place in Reynoldsburg, Ohio Sept. 6-8, 2013, and Livermore, Calif. Nov. 22-24, 2013.They will offer instruction from members of the USA Softball Women’s National Team coaching staff, including current USA and USF head coach Ken Eriksen.

Friday classes will include “Beginning Pitching” and “Practice Organization” with classes on offense, defense, base running, hitting, pitching and fielding taking place on Saturday and Sunday.

U.S. Takes Gold at Mayor’s Cup

The USA Softball Women’s National Team, led by USF head coach Ken Eriksen, won their first gold medal of the 2013 season after taking the Mayor’s Cup in San Juan, Puerto Rico this past Friday.

Bulls’ senior ace Sara Nevins finished the tournament with a 2-0 record and 2.33 ERA.

The U.S. is currently competing in the Pan American Games/World Championship Qualifier which is also in San Juan. They have won their first two contests against Aruba and Brazil by a combined 27-0.
