USF 15th at Seminole Intercollegiate

The University of South Florida men’s golf team fell one spot into 15th place on Saturday at the Seminole Intercollegiate, held at the par-71, 7,172-yard Southwood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.

Devin Hernandez continued to demonstrate his potential, rallying from four strokes over par at the turn to finish his round with four birdies and just one bogey for a final tally of 1-over 72. The sophomore is in a tie for 22nd place and seven strokes off the lead entering the final round.

Bodi Karsono was consistent from his opening round 75 on Friday, shooting a 5-over 76 on Saturday to finish the day in a tie for 56th place.

The other three Bulls all made significant improvement over their opening rounds. Aaron Fitzpatrick shot a 3-over 74 after carding a 78 on Friday; Devin Patel also posted a 74 after shooting 80 on Friday, and Tommy Riehle rebounded from an opening-round 84 to post a 79 on Saturday. Fitzpatrick sits in a tie for 67th place, while Patel is tied for 77th and Riehle is tied for 92nd.

Arkansas is leading the team competition at four-under 564, while Troy’s Zach Portemont is the individual leader at 4-under 138.

The Bulls will play the final round with Florida Atlantic and Jacksonville beginning at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday.
