The USF women's cross country team added another memorable finish to a season filled with many.
Led once again by Allie Prendergast, the Bulls finished the NCAA South Regional in 11th place Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
"They got out there and tried their hardest to finish a good year with a strong meet," coach Dena Reif said. "I was proud of them as a group."
Reif was especially proud of Prendergast, who finished 18th against some of the best runners in the country on the way to earning All-Region honors.
Prendergast's season has the opportunity to be extra sweet as well.
If Florida, which finished third overall, gets an at-large big to the NCAA Championships, Prendergast will be making the trip as well because she would have been the fourth-best runner out of the top five individuals left outside of qualifying teams for nationals.
Prendergast will find out if she makes it to the NCAA Championships on Sunday.
"She got out there and competed with that group, didn't let them get way and got where she needed to be," said Reif of her senior who finished the 6K race in 21:05.
Connor Bauer shined on the men's side for USF, which took 22nd place, by remaining the Bulls' top runner in 67th with a time of 33:20 in the 10K race.
"I definitely give him congrats for him being out top runner all year," Reif said.
