TAMPA - ESPN.com reporter Andrea Adelson is doing a preseason countdown of her top 25 Big East players for the 2012 season and two Bulls have already made the list.
Defensive end Ryne Giddins recently came in at No. 11, two spots ahead of Bulls linebacker DeDe Lattimore.
Giddins has had an outstanding fall camp after posting 5.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 44 total tackles and three forced fumbles last year.
"Giddins already is on the preseason watch list for the Lombardi Award, presented annually to the best lineman in college football. The USF defensive line should be one of the strongest positions for the Bulls this season and big reason why is Giddins," Adelson wrote.
Lattimore had a monster 2011 season, leading the Bulls in total tackles (94), tackles for loss (13) and sacks (7).
"He made it on one preseason watch list for the Lombardi Award. I think he is an unheralded player with a chance to make a big impact," Adelson wrote.
Adelson just jumped into the top 10 today. Find out if more Bulls make the list by following along HERE.
