TAMPA - USF's Zac Gilcrease was a hit last Wednesday at the New York Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
Gilcrease went 1-for-1 with an RBI in the West Division's 4-3 loss and he's batting .375 in 10 summer league games while primarily playing third base for the Athletes in Action squad.
"Gilcrease is a left-handed hitter who is very smooth at third base," AIA head coach Taylor Hargrove said in an AIA release. "I think he's got a good swing from the left side and we are looking for him to help us make a run at the playoffs."
Gilcrease had a promising start to his USF career as a freshman in 2012 when he hit .250 in 28 games (20 starts).
Athletes in Action is a Christian ministry organization based in Ohio that uses the sports platform to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.
