Bulls Return to Charleston for Coed Spring Invite

TAMPA, MARCH 11, 2017 – The University of South Florida sailing team will be competing in the Charleston Coed Spring Invitational Saturday and Sunday.

This will be the first coed regatta of the season for the Bulls, who will be racing against some of the best male sailors in the country.

The Bulls are coming off an eighth-place finish at the Old Dominion Intersectional last weekend.

Notables

·         Senior Alison Knoles (Gross Ile, Mich.) and freshman Delaney Brown (West Palm, Fla.) will get the go in the A division.

·         In the B division, junior Sarah Streater (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and freshman Augustine Haile (Tampa) will operate together.

·         Conditions for Charleston are expected to be chilly with highs in the low 50's and a slight breeze. There is a 90% chance of rain on Sunday.

·         The first collegiate sailing spring rankings came out this week and the Bulls came in at No. 16 in the country.

The USF sailing program has reached the national finals in four of the last five years. The Bulls finished in the top 10 during the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
