TAMPA, MARCH 13, 2017 – The University of South Florida sailing team finished eighth at the Charleston Coed Spring Invitational this past weekend.

The Bulls were the only all-women's team competing among the 18 teams that entered the regatta, racking up four bullets.

Harvard finished first, followed by Georgetown, Boston University, Yale, MIT, College of Charleston and UC Santa Barbara.

Notables

·         Senior Alison Knoles (Gross Ile, Mich.) and freshman Delaney Brown (West Palm, Fla.) finished ninth in the A division.

·         In the B division, junior Sarah Streater (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and freshman Augustine Haile (Tampa) finished eighth.

·         Conditions were harsh for most of the event, with knots ranging from 6-20. Strong tidal currents were a factor all weekend.

·         This marks the fourth-straight top-10 finish for the Bulls and the third-straight eighth-place finish.

·         Associate AD and sailing sports admin Jodie Libadisos was on hand, braving the inclement weather to support the team.

Next Up

The Bulls will travel to St. Mary’s City, Md., for the St. Mary’s Spring Women’s Regatta on Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19.
