The University of South Florida is proud to open the nomination process for the 2011 USF Athletics Hall of Fame class, which will be unveiled during the Fall of 2011.

The Mission of the Hall of Fame is to recognize, preserve and perpetuate the memory of individuals and teams whose outstanding performance distinguishes them as competitors, whose accomplishments bring prestige to USF, and who demonstrate the character and values that define the highest principles of sport. Induction into the USF Athletics Hall of Fame is the highest honor afforded by the USF Athletic Department.

Nomination Procedure

To make a nomination for the 2011 class of the USF Hall of Fame, please review the eligibility information on the following page and submit a letter of nomination that includes the following information:
■ Your name and contact information (address, telephone number and email address)

■ The name of your nominee, and his or her contact information (if available)
■ The varsity sport in which your nominee competed, and years of participation
■ Supporting information about the nominee’s contributions to USF Athletics, including any honors received, records attained, post‐graduate achievements, and any other comments you would like the Hall of Fame Executive Committee to consider.

Nominations must be received by December 31, 2010 for consideration in the 2011 class.

Nominations received after the deadline will be held for future consideration.

ELIGIBILITY
Former USF Student Athletes
Student athletes are eligible five (5) years after completion of eligibility to compete at USF or any other NCAA institution, and the student athlete must have completed his or her eligibility at USF. Candidates must not have been dismissed from the University of South Florida or its athletics program.

Coaches and Administrators

Coaches and administrators are eligible for induction provided that they are not currently employed by the University of South Florida.

Others

From time to time, other individuals whose contributions to USF Athletics are deemed to be of historic proportion may be considered for induction in the USF Athletics Hall of Fame.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

A Nominations Committee appointed by the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics will solicit nominations for the USF Athletics Hall of Fame, review submissions, and present qualified candidates to the Hall of Fame Executive Committee for consideration. Nominations are due by December 31, 2010; the Executive Committee will convene in March 2011, and the induction ceremony will be held in the fall of 2011. Candidates must be able to attend the Hall of Fame Ceremony in order to be inducted. Nominations will remain active for five years.

EXAMPLES OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT MAY RECOMMEND HALL OF FAME CONSIDERATION

Former USF Student Athletes:
■ Participation at the highest levels of sport
■ NCAA championship‐level competition
■ Setting a USF, NCAA and/or World Record
■ Participation in the Olympics or other IOC‐recognized international competitions
■ Participation on National Teams
■ Receiving All‐America, NCAA and/or Conference Honors
■ Professional accomplishments
■ Other contributions deemed to be of historic consequence

Coaches

■ Coaching teams to national and conference championships
■ Overall coaching record and length of service
■ National and Conference Coach of the year honors or other national recognition
■ Record of post‐season success
■ Other contributions deemed to be of historic consequence

Administrators

■ Length and quality of service
■ National recognition for NCAA‐level leadership
■ Leadership deemed to be of historic consequence
