DiMarco Named Conference Player of the Week

TAMPA, MARCH 1, 2017 – Cristian DiMarco was named American Athletic Conference Men’s Golf Player of the Week on Wednesday after his best finish yet as a Bull at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate.
DiMarco tied for second place among 80 competitors Tuesday in Mexico with a score of 8-under and finished just one shot behind individual winner Corey Pereira of Washington.
DiMarco went under par in all three rounds and matched his career best with a 4-under 67 in the opening round at Querencia Golf Club. The junior from Longwood, Fla., was tied for the lead at 9-under through 12 holes of the final round before securing his third top-10 finish as a Bull.
DiMarco’s performance in Mexico helped the Bulls post an 8-under 276 in the final round, the program’s best 18-hole score of the season. USF placed seventh among 15 programs and ahead of No. 21 Duke, No. 26 Arkansas, No. 30 Florida State, No. 29 Mississippi and No. 5 Georgia.
DiMarco leads the Bulls with a 72.0 scoring average through 20 rounds this season. USF returns to competition at the Valspar Invitational March 19-21 at The Floridian in Palm City, Fla.
