Bulls Face Duke in NCAA First Round
TAMPA, MAY 11, 2017 – A seasoned University of South Florida men's tennis team enters the NCAA Tournament with a No. 22 national ranking and a drive to advance to the second round of the tournament. The only thing standing in the way of the Bulls' fourth consecutive second round appearance is No. 35 Duke. The two teams will face-off at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex (University of Georgia) Friday at 11 a.m.
The Bulls (17-8) earned one of the Tournament's 31-automatic conference bids after securing their fourth American Athletic Conference title April 23. USF rides a four-match win streak into the program's 14th NCAA appearance.
USF is led by The American Co-Player of the Year Sasha Gozun (Moldova) at the No. 1 spot. Gozun (No. 52) is the league's tournament Most Outstanding Player and finished the season 11-7 overall. No. 99 Peter Bertran and #108 Alberto Barroso-Campos also look to make a splash at the tournament.
