TAMPA, MARCH 13, 2017 – Take a look ahead at the week in USF Athletics and catch up on last week’s action:
No. 19 Football
Next Week: Following spring break, USF resumes its spring schedule with practice Tuesday, March 21. Read about the Bulls’ first practice in full pads on March 10 HERE… USF’s spring game is set for Saturday, April 15 at Corbett Stadium, the on-campus soccer home of the Bulls. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. and admission is free. Learn more HERE.
Need to Know: The priority ticket renewal period for all Bulls Club members runs through Friday, March 31. New season ticket sales for all fans will begin on Saturday, April 8. Deposits will be accepted prior to April 8. Flex plan packages and group ticket sales will begin on Monday, May 15. No. 25 Women’s Basketball (24-8)
This Week: Join the Bulls at the Sun Dome Arena Club for the NCAA Tournament Selection Show on Monday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and fans can enter through Gate C. Learn more HERE.
Last Week: USF appeared in The American tournament championship game for the third consecutive season. Laia Flores became USF’s new single-season assists leader in a 100-44 loss to top-ranked UConn at Mohegan Sun Arena on March 6. Check out the recap HERE.
Need to Know: USF will head to the NCAA tournament three wins shy of the program season record of 27 set in 2014-15… USF is poised to make its fourth trip to the NCAA tournament in the past five seasons and the program’s fifth overall appearance.

Men’s Basketball (7-23)
Last Week: Tulio Da Silva set USF’s freshman season rebounding record in the opening round of the American Athletic Conference Championship. USF worked a 15-point deficit down to two late in a 77-66 loss to sixth-seeded UConn at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., on March 9.

This Week: USF takes a 14-game winning streak into a four-game home series against Harvard that begins 6:30 p.m. Friday. Saturday’s doubleheader starts at 2 p.m. and Sunday’s series finale is set for 1 p.m.
Last Week: Joe Genord hit a homer in the ninth inning to help the Bulls complete a sweep of Valparaiso with a 6-5 walk-off win on March 12. USF started the series with an 11-2 victory on March 10 and an 8-1 win on March 11… Before the sweep, USF jumped on Jacksonville early in a 12-6 home victory on March 7. Kevin Merrell hit two homers in an 8-1 win over Villanova on March 8.
Need to Know: The Bulls’ 14-game win streak ties the third-longest stretch in program history and it is the second-longest active streak in the nation.

This Week: USF will play a doubleheader Wednesday at home against Jacksonville and Yale that begins at 5:30 p.m. … The Bulls will split time between Tampa and Clearwater this weekend during the Michele Smith-Clearwater Parks and Rec Spring Tournament. USF will play a doubleheader Friday at home against Auburn and North Dakota State, starting at 1:30 p.m. The Bulls will play another pair of games Saturday against Missouri and Illinois at the Eddie C. Moore Complex, beginning at 2:30 p.m. USF heads back to campus Sunday to take on FAMU at 4 p.m.
Last Week: USF went 3-3 over the weekend at the Under Armour Showcase thanks to a doubleheader sweep on March 12. USF rolled past Army, 11-1, in five innings before posting a 9-2 win over Central Connecticut State… USF fell to Butler, 5-1, and Central Michigan, 4-2, in a doubleheader in Clearwater on March 11… USF bounced back from a 2-0 home loss to Purdue with an 11-9 win in 11 innings against Saint Joseph’s at home on March 10… The Bulls started the week at home with a 6-4 victory over Boston College and a 3-2 loss to Penn on March 8.

Men’s Tennis (9-5)
This Week: USF will travel to Indian Wells, Calif., this weekend to compete in the BNP Paribas Open.
Last Week: USF won five out of six matches and capped things off with a 5-0 victory over Tulsa in the conference opener on March 12… USF posted a 4-0 sweep of Penn State on March 11 after cruising past VCU, 4-0, on March 10… USF rolled to a doubleheader sweep on March 8 with a 4-1 victory over North Florida and a 4-0 win over UNCW… The Bulls nearly knocked off No. 17 Baylor in a 4-3 loss in Bradenton on March 6.

Women’s Tennis (6-6)
This Week: USF will play three matches at home, starting with a test against Liberty on Tuesday at noon… USF takes on conference foe Tulsa on Thursday at noon before Saturday’s noon match against UAB. Admission is free at the USF Varsity Courts.

Track and Field
This Week: In the outdoor season opener, USF will host the Bulls Invitational Friday and Saturday at USF Track and Field Stadium.

Last Week: Maria “Nani” Merchan’s best finish of the season helped boost the Bulls up to eighth place in the final round of the SunTrust Gator Invitational on March 12. USF has posted four top-10 finishes in eight events this season. Check out the recap HERE.

This Week: St. Mary's Spring Women's Regatta on Saturday and Sunday in Maryland.
Last Week: USF placed eighth at Charleston Spring Coed Regatta over the weekend. The Bulls were the only all-women's team competing among the 18 teams entered and racked up four bullets. Alison Knoles and Delaney Brown placed ninth in the A Division. Sarah Streater and Augustine Haile placed eighth in the B Division.
