TAMPA, MAY 8, 2017 – Take a look ahead at the week in USF Athletics and catch up on last week's action:

No. 23 Baseball (37-10, 12-6)

This Week: USF wraps up the regular season with an eight-game road trip that begins 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at No. 5/7 Florida… First-place USF jumps back into conference play with a three-game series at UConn that begins Friday at 3 p.m. Saturday's game is set for 1 p.m. and Sunday's series finale starts at 1 p.m.

Last Week: USF grabbed sole possession of first place in the league standings with a three-game sweep of East Carolina. USF followed up its 8-6 victory on May 5 with a 5-4 walk-off win in 10 innings on May 6. Peter Strzelecki struck out a career-high 10 in 8.1 innings of USF's 6-3 Senior Day win on May 7.

Need to Know: Catcher Tyler Dietrich was named conference player of the week, while pitcher Peter Strzelecki landed on The American's weekly honor roll. Learn more HERE… USF posted a 31-6 record at home this season. The Bulls have collected seven series sweeps this year… USF moved up to No. 23 in the latest Baseball America national poll.

Softball (32-23, 9-8)

This Week: USF will chase after a title at the American Athletic Conference Championship at East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C. Fourth-seeded USF begins its run with a test against No. 5 seed Memphis in the quarterfinals Thursday at 11 a.m. (EST). The tournament features a single-elimination format.

Last Week: USF extended its winning streak to six with a 3-0 victory over Houston on May 5. Houston took the series with 3-1 and 5-4 victories May 6-7.

Need to Know: Conference quarterfinal and semifinal games can be viewed HERE… The championship game is set for Saturday at noon and will be televised nationally on ESPN.

Football

No. 22 Men's Tennis

This Week: USF will face No. 34 Duke in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship on Friday at 11 a.m. in Athens, Ga. Learn more HERE.

Last Week: First-year USF head coach Ashley Fisher was recognized as American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Bulls to their fourth consecutive league title. Senior Sasha Gozun was named conference co-player of the year and an all-conference singles selection. Gozun and Alberto Barroso-Campos were named to the all-conference doubles team. Need to Know: Sasha Gozun was selected to compete in the NCAA singles competition beginning May 24.

Women's Tennis

This Week: USF will face Miami in the first round of the 2017 NCAA Division I Women's Tennis Championship on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Gainesville. Learn more HERE.

Last Week: Cristina Moros was named conference coach of the year after leading the Bulls to a league title in her second season with the program. Ana Roman Dominguez and Juliana Cardoso were each tabbed all-conference. Learn more HERE.

Need to Know: USF received a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA for earning a perfect multi-year APR score of 1,000 to rank among the top 10 percent nationally in its sport. Learn more HERE.

Men's Golf

Next Event: USF will attempt to book a trip to the final rounds of the NCAA Championship for the third straight season when the Bulls compete at the Baton Rouge (La.) Regional that takes place May 15-17. Learn more about USF's fifth consecutive NCAA Regional appearance HERE.

Last Week: Steve Bradley was named conference coach of the year for the third straight season after leading the Bulls to a three-peat at the league tournament. Cristian DiMarco, Jimmy Jones and Rigel Fernandes all earned spots on the all-conference team. Learn more HERE.

Athletics

Last Week: A total of 73 student-athletes received their degrees during spring commencement ceremonies over the weekend, which marked USF Athletics' largest graduating class since 2012. More than 100 student-athletes will graduate from USF in the 2016-17 school year. Learn more HERE.

Need to Know: University of South Florida System President Dr. Judy Genshaft and Director of Athletics Mark Harlan announced Tampa Bay Entertainment Properties (TBEP) has signed a five-year agreement with Sun Dome, Inc. to manage and operate the USF Sun Dome. Read more about it HERE.

This Week: Reigning American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year Tamara Henshaw has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2017 USA Basketball Women's U19 World Cup Team trials May 18-21 at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Learn more HERE.
