Coach Hargreaves on Bonani:

“Had a good spring after getting injured last fall and being limited in the fall. Shows great poise and gets the ball up in a hurry. It’s going to be a great competition to see who the starter is going to be. I’m looking forward to him coming back and being even better in the fall.”

2009: Will pursue medical redshirt after suffering broken vertebrae during an on-the-job accident over the summer.

2008: A true freshman who took over the main kicking duties after the first two games of the season ...  Connected on 15-21 field goals ...  Was near perfect under 40 yards, finishing 12-13 from inside the 40 with the lone miss coming on a blocked attempt ...  3-8 from 40-plus yards ...  Long of 49 yards is the fourth-longest in USF history ...  Three of six missed field goal attempts were blocked ...  After missing the first attempt of his career, came back to hit three straight, including the game-winning field goal in the final seconds against Kansas  which ranks among the most memorable moments in USF history ...  The game winner was just the third final-second field goal in USF history and the first made by a true freshman ...   Completed season by making final three FG attempts ...  Also handled kickoffs for the final seven games of the season ...  Averaged 62.2 yards per kickoff with two touchbacks and none going out of bounds.

LAKE WALES HIGH SCHOOL:  Considered one of the top kickers in the state ...  Was a 3A first team  all-state placekicker as a junior and second team as a senior, as well as all-state punter his senior year ...  Had a career-long 55-yard kick his junior season ...  Named Male Athlete of the Year in 2007 by the Lakeland Ledger ...  Chose USF over UCF and Florida State ...  Named 2007 Polk County Soccer Player of the Year...  Lettered in three sports: tennis (three years), football (three years) and soccer (four years).
