Seven Bulls Earn NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete Honors

TAMPA (Oct. 11, 2017) – Seven student-athletes earned All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for the 2016-2017 academic year, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced Tuesday.
 
Amber Atkinson, Cassidy Boyle, Anamarie Bruni, Astin Donovan, Bethaney Keen, Brook Leistl, and Kassandra Moeller were among those honored.  
 
The award, which is submitted by member coaches, is handed out to players who achieved a 3.50 grade-point average or higher during the 2016-17 academic year.
 
The rankings and honors recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across seven membership divisions. NCAA Division I, with 1,843 honorees, had the most student-athletes with a 3.5 grade-point average or higher, while 1,825 in Division III earned recognition, followed by 1,268 Division II student-athletes.
 
A total of 1,843 student-athletes in Division I earned a 3.5 grade-point average or higher. USF ranks third in the conference in players honored, behind UConn and Memphis.
