Bulls in the NFL Update: Week 12

TAMPA, NOV. 27, 2017Eric Lee contributed right away for the New England Patriots in his NFL debut Sunday.

The former USF team captain registered four tackles and a sack while playing 25 snaps in the Patriots' 35-17 victory over Miami. What made Lee's performance extra impressive was the fact that he was signed off the Buffalo Bills' practice squad just five days before suiting up for the Patriots.

Lee had been waiting to make his NFL regular season debut since he was activated by the Bills in week 4 but did not play. Lee went undrafted in 2016 and initially signed with the Houston Texans before his run with Buffalo earlier this season.

Prior to becoming a pro, the defensive end started 24 games in his final two seasons with the Bulls. Lee shined as a senior in 2015 with a career-best 45 tackles, a team-leading 12 tackles for loss, five sacks, an interception, four pass breakups, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. The Daphne, Ala., native was rewarded for his efforts with all-conference second team honors and USF's Lee Roy Selmon Award.
