Fernandez Coaches Clinic Set for Oct. 21

TAMPA, SEPT. 26, 2017 Head coach Jose Fernandez enters his 18th season as head coach of the University of South Florida women's basketball program and the all-time winningest coach has announced the date for his annual Coaches Clinic. Fernandez and his veteran staff will host coaches at the Pam and Les Muma Basketball Center Oct. 21.
 
Coaches will have the opportunity to hear from Fernandez and watch individual and group sessions led by associate head coach Jeff Osterman, associate coach Michelle Woods-Baxter and assistant coach Jesyka Burks-Wiley. The group combine for more than 50 years of Division I coaching experience.

The Bulls open the 2017-18 season on Friday, Nov. 10, when they host LSU at the Sun Dome. USF averaged more than 2,500 fans last season and season tickets were at an all-time high. Tickets are available for the upcoming season by calling 1-800-GoBulls, or visiting USFBullsTix.com.

USF notched its fifth consecutive 20-win season. The Bulls tallied its 20th win in their 24th contest of the season which tied the fastest any program has reached 20 wins. This is the eighth 20-win season in program history and head coach Jose Fernandez has been at the helm for all eight 20-win seasons. The 2014-15 team reached 20 wins in 24 games, and still currently holds the best record for most wins in a season (27).
 
USF has made 13 postseason tournament appearances and had five NCAA Tournament berths in Head Coach Jose Fernandez's 17 seasons. The all-time winningest coach in program history, Fernandez has guided USF to eight 20-win seasons, two WNIT final four appearances, the 2009 WNIT championship and won more than 300 games.
