USF Athletics

Transferred from James Madison in the Spring of 2024 with two years of eligibility remaining at USF...an experienced defensive back who played 15 games with the Dukes, logging 12 tackles and an interception on their 11-2 team in 2023.

2024: Started all 13 games on the season, recording 48 total tackles - 36 solo and 12 assisted - two interceptions and a team-best 10 pass break-ups…registered six tackles (four solo) at Alabama…tallied four tackles (three solo) and a career-high three PBU’s at So. Miss (9/14)…recorded four tackles (three solo), the second INT of his career, and one PBU vs. Miami (9/21)…registered four tackles, all solo, at Tulane (9/28)…recorded three tackles (two solo) and two PBU vs. Memphis (10/12)…picked up a career-high seven tackles (six solo) and two PBU’s vs. UAB (10/19)...tallied three total tackles (two assisted) and one PBU at Florida Atlantic (11/1)...registered six total tackles (five solo) and one interception returned 14 yards for a touchdown at Charlotte (11/16)...tied career-high seven total tackles, six solo and one assisted, at Rice (11/30).

2023 (JAMES MADISON): Played in 11 games for a JMU team that went 11-2…had 12 tackles (five solo) to go with one interception and a pass breakup…had an 81-yard pick-six vs. UConn (11/11) for first career interception…tied a career high with three tackles vs. Georgia Southern (10/ 14).

2022 (JAMES MADISON): Played in five games…had eight tackles (six solo)…made a season-high three tackles at Arkansas State (10/8)…had a pair of stops vs. Texas State (10/1)

CAJON HS: A First Team All-Citrus Belt League selection as a senior…First Team All-Ambassador League as a junior and Second Team as a sophomore…part of Cajon’s 2019 CIF regional championship…a dual-sport athlete who was also a sprinter for the track & field program…qualified for the DI CIF in the 100-meter dash was ranked #4 in California in the 4x100 relay…an Honor roll student.

PERSONAL: Born December 19, 2003...son of Blaze and Christina Austin…has a brother, Brayden, and two sisters, Kaylah and Cassandra…majoring in sport and recreation management...named to the Athletics Honor Roll in the Spring of 2024.
