TAMPA, OCT. 26, 2015 – The USF men's soccer team will host its final home game of the regular season Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. when Old Dominion comes to Tampa for the final non-conference game of the season. Tuesday's game will be Senior Night and the five seniors on this year's squad will be recognized before the game.
The Bulls currently boast a 10-3-2 record with an 8-0-1 home record. The Bulls have shut out five of their eight home opponents and scored at least two goals in all but one of the victories. USF will look to finish the season undefeated at home when they face ODU on Tuesday. Should the Bulls win or tie, both the men and women's teams will have finished with unblemished records at Corbett Stadium.
The Bulls are currently 5-0-2 in conference play and have allowed just four goals in seven games. USF is coming off a 2-2 draw to first-place SMU Saturday night. Down 2-0, Lindo Mfeka scored two late second-half goals to help the Bulls stay undefeated at home.
Leading the Bulls is Nazeem Bartman with 17 points (six goals, five assists) on the season. Bartman has either scored or assisted on a goal in five of seven conference games. Melvin Becket is second on the team with seven points on three goals and one assist. Lindo Mfeka also has seven points on three goals and one assist. In goal, Spasoje Stefanovic has played all 1390 minutes, recording 45 saves for a .71 goals against average.
SCOUTING OLD DOMINION
The Monarchs are currently 8-2-2 on the season with a 3-1-1 road record. Coming in just behind USF in the rankings at No. 14, ODU played No. 16 Kentucky to a scoreless draw this past weekend. The Monarchs are 1-1-1 against ranked opponents this season with every game being played in their home stadium.
Leading ODU is Josue Henriquez with 11 points (five goals, one assist) and Ivan Militar with 11 points (three goals, five assists). In goal, Alex Tiesenhausen has played every minute this season and recorded 45 saves. Tiesenhausen has allowed just ten goals and boasts a .78 goals against average with five shutouts.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Old Dominion leads the series 4-1-4 and has won three times at Corbett Stadium. The Bulls only win came in 1982, a 2-1 victory at home. The two teams met last season for the first time since 1990, with ODU walking away with a 1-0 victory.
QUICK STRIKES
• The Bulls are undefeated in ten of their last eleven games, outscoring opponents 18-7 in that time frame.
• USF is currently ranked No. 11 in the country by TopDrawerSoccer. In the NSCAA poll, the Bulls appeared at No. 13.
