Ryan Anatol Named As One Of The Top Assistant Coaches By CSN

TAMPA? University of South Florida's men's soccer assistant coach, Ryan Anatol, was named by College Soccer News as one of the Top-12 assistant coaches during the 2008 season.

The 2008 season was Anatol's fourth season in Tampa.? In 2008, the Bulls won the program's first ever Big East Championship and advanced to the Elite Eight of NCAA Tournament play. USF concluded the year with a 15-5-3 record.

?“Ryan is an excellent part of our coaching staff.? He has championship experience both as a player and a coach,” stated USF head coach George Kiefer. “Ryan understands what it takes for the program to become one of the nation's elite. Anatol's energetic and positive, yet demanding approach to the game make him a very valuable member of our staff at USF.”

A former standout with the Bulls, Anatol was hired on April 19, 2005. During his first season back at USF, the Trinidad & Tobago native helped guide the Bulls to a 13-6-2 record and a BIG EAST conference-best 9-2 record while winning the BIG EAST Red Division title. The 2005 team advanced to round of the NCAA Tournament, and the 2007 team made it to the Sweet 16 under Anatol's watch.

Anatol played for the Bulls for four seasons (1997-00) under coaches David Christiansen and John Hackworth, serving as team co-captain in 2000. During his playing career at USF, Anatol won Conference USA Championships in 1997 and 1998 and competed in the NCAA Tournament both seasons. In 1997, the Bulls won 14 games and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, the best showing for the team prior to 2008.
