Butehorn Invites Local Coaches to Open Training Session

TAMPA, Oct. 2, 2017 – University of South Florida men's soccer head coach Bob Butehorn and his staff are partnering with the United Soccer Coaches (USC) for a nationwide event. The Bulls are participating the USC Open Training Week Oct. 3-8 and will open their practice Tuesday.
 
USF will hold training from 8 a.m. to approximately 10 a.m. and it will be open for observation. The coaching staff, led by Butehorn, will provide a training guide to each coach in attendance and will be available after for questions. "From coast to coast, we want coaches from every background to have access to training sessions that will introduce them to new ideas, new individuals, and new environments," said USC President Charlie Slagle. On Dec. 18 Bob Butehorn was appointed the head coach the USF men's soccer program. A member of the University of Tampa's 1981 national championship team and a three-time conference coach of the year, Butehorn previously led Florida Gulf Coast University's men's soccer program to six conference regular season championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances and Top 25 rankings in five seasons since 2010.
 
The Bulls concluded the season as The American regular season champions and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The Bulls finished the season with a 10-6-4 overall record and a 6-1-0 mark in the American Athletic Conference.
